Our beloved pastor, John MacArthur, has been pastoring Grace Community Church for 43 years! He is a stalwart of the Christian faith and has been wholeheartedly committed to teaching the Word of God clearly and effectively his entire ministry! As a church family we have celebrated an incredible display of God's grace in his life as he has recently completed preaching through EVERY VERSE in the entire New Testament (not to mention several books in the Old Testament)!!! This has not been done in over 100 years and only by a few faithful men before him...what this represents is a man who has faithfully exposited the Bible in one church for over 40 years - WOW!!!
Daniel and I love & admire Pastor John greatly as he is certainly one of the heros of the faith and will continue to be known as one of the greatest preachers of modern days! His ministry has had a huge impact on Daniel and I over the years we have sat under his teaching and served at GCC!
We have chosen to name our second son after him... :)
As a reminder: Owen was named after the great Puritan preacher, John Owen, who championed the doctrines of Scripture like no one else in his time. He also wrote many books, a few of which have influenced Daniel's and my life.
We gave Owen his middle name "William" after my Dad, Irvin (Bubba) William Solt, who is a great hero in our family and is a model of ceaseless and faithful love and service to his family! He is a godly man who has living impact in Daniel's and my life daily and we anticipate his godly influence on his namesake (and others) grandson!
